Brotherhood
One of
the key focuses of Fraternity Life is brotherhood. Although many
fraternities mention the importance of brotherhood to their fraternity,
Sigma Chi values a "Life-Long" Brotherhood. An integral part of the Sigma
Chi experience is the development and maintenance of close and enduring
friendships. The pace of life today is often too hurried to promote the
development of lasting friendships, and the quality of people's lives
consequently suffers. In college and throughout life, Sigma Chi brothers
share in each other's hopes and successes, and provide strong arms of
support when they are needed most. We do not aspire to replace relationships
with family or friends outside the Fraternity. In fact, friendships formed
through Sigma Chi will complement these existing relationships with bonds
and experiences that would not exist outside the fraternal experience. We
develop truly meaningful and enduring relationships with brothers whom they
might never have met outside Sigma Chi. These friendships do not develop by
accident; on the contrary, they are the result of thoughtful and deliberate
process begun in pledgeship, maintained by the activities of the chapter,
and thus, given firm direction through the Ritual.
One of our most
esteemed events throughout the year is Sigma Chi's Parents Weekend. This
weekend serves to invite parents or respective members of the fraternity to
visit the house, meet other parents, and enjoy the weekend's festivities.
This weekend serves to enlighten parents about the nature of our fraternity
and the values of Sigma Chi that have been instilled in their children.
After attending this weekend, parents will get a better insight to
Sigma Chi's Value Proposition. If you would like a first hand account
